Recently, Binance CEO Richard Teng and representatives of the Binance team visited the Taiwan High Prosecutors Office (hereinafter referred to as the Taiwan High Prosecutors Office) and met with the Chief Prosecutor of the Taiwan High Prosecutors Office, Chang Dou-hui. The two sides also had an in-depth discussion on the issue of virtual asset crime prevention and control. They hope that on the basis of the existing good cooperation, they can continue to promote the expansion of cooperation on crime prevention and control issues that concern all sectors of society, and jointly strengthen the crackdown on illegal activities to maintain the security of the financial environment.
Dou-Hui Chang said, “We are grateful to Binance for its long-term support and assistance to Taiwan’s law enforcement agencies, especially through a series of educational trainings, which have helped the Taiwan High Prosecutors Office and local prosecutors offices to better understand virtual assets and how to deal with the challenges brought by this emerging technology. We look forward to continuing to strengthen cooperation between law enforcement agencies and the industry to build a closer joint defense mechanism to achieve the goal of protecting people’s safety and combating crime.”
Richard Teng said, “We are very pleased to be able to carry out representative cooperation with Taiwan’s law enforcement agencies with the support of the Taiwan High Prosecutors Office. One of the three commitments I made when I took over as CEO was to continue to promote cooperation with global regulators. Our cooperation with Taiwan’s law enforcement agencies is one of the concrete actions to implement this commitment. It also represents Binance’s firm determination to continue to promote compliance.”
