Mark Yusko, founder of Morgan Creek Capital, shared his insights on the crypto market in an exclusive interview with Cointelegraph, offering a comprehensive outlook for 2025.
Yusko remains a strong believer in Bitcoin’s BTC$97,707 four-year cycle, despite the hype around a Bitcoin Strategic Reserve potentially being implemented in the United States.
He predicts that after reaching its fair value of around $100,000, Bitcoin will experience a parabolic surge potentially pushing it to $120,000 to $150,000 by mid-2025.
“To me, fair value is right around that, that six-digit level. [..] I figured we would blow through that, that six-digit number, and then humans would human,” he said. However, he cautioned that a bear market could follow by the year’s end, warning, “We have another bear market starting mid-year 2025.”
On Ether ETH$3,846.48 , Yusko expressed doubt over its long-term dominance. While the approval of spot Ether exchange-traded funds in 2024 was a milestone, Yusko questioned Ethereum’s competitive edge.
He posed, “If Ethereum didn’t exist and was invented today, would anybody use it?” With faster, cheaper alternatives like Solana and Avalanche gaining traction, Yusko argued that Ethereum’s current market dominance may not be sustainable in the face of better technological solutions.
